These are a few of my favorite things – 8 things about me!
Because I am new in this blog business, I thought I could share eight things that describe me as a person. So you guys would know me a little bit better. Now let’s get down to business!
1. I’M NOT A MORNING PERSON
Everybody knows that I am NOT a morning person. For me, it takes a couple of hours and good breakfast to get going. I hate the rushin the mornings and I love slow mornings. For me, slow mornings are luxury, because usually, weekday mornings are full of rush and hustle.
I would love to be a morning person, full of energy when you wake up! If I want to have things done I must plan my day beforehand. This way everything will get done.
2. COFFEE, YES PLEASE!
I feel that this is Finnish thing. We Finnish really love our cup of joe! I have learned as a child, that you should drink coffee during the day. If you come to our home, I will ask you, would you like to have a cup of coffee. But I would assume that this happens in homes around the world. I prefer rich dark roasts. I like espresso-based coffee drinks, like lattes and cappuccinos, but these are usually workdays highlight.
3. MUSIC KEEPS WORLD GO AROUND!
Music has always been part of my world. My mood will choose my music, so I have my own playlist for every occasion. I think that I'm quite openminded with music, but Finnish music, hard metal or rock music maybe isn’t my cup of tea. I usually listen R’n’B, rap, soul, funk, and pop music. New favorites are dancehall and reggaetón, which have became part of today's mainstream music. I like also musicals if you wonder posts topic. This one isn’t one of my favorites.
4. I CAN’T DRIVE AND I DON'T HAVE A CAR
I don’t have a driver’s license or own car. I have never been interested in cars or driving. We live in an area with good public transporting, so I think you don’t even need a car in the metropolitan area. You can get your bigger shopping home with home delivery. It can take little time, but it is much cheaper than owning a car. Youn can always get your license if your lifestyle changes. Plus public transportation is also a green choice!
5. THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME!
Where these musical references came from. I really love new places, people, and challenges, but the best moment in my day is when I came home. Do I have to explain myself more?
6. I RATHER GO TO THE GYM THAN DO CARDIO...
Going for a jog is nice when the weather is sunny. And this happens like two times a year in Finland. I think cardio can be a kind of boring without company! I think that I get more done in the gym. I like back and leg days, when you focus on these areas. I must have my own music in the gym. I have dreamed going to dance lessons. Maybe this happens next year! I should flex and stretch more.
7. I LOVE TRASH TV
Ok, now we are getting into something. I love trash tv, if there’s some reality-tv I will watch. I love to keep up with the Kardashians (Yes, I know you either love them or hate them), I will say yes to a dress with brides and follow the dramatic life of the Real Housewives. I love to find the next top model or walk the project runaway with the contestants. I love Wendy Williams and I would watch Love and Hip-hop-series if I could.
I even watch The Bachelor, but the Finnish versions are better because they don’t have an endless budget. Usually, the Finnish versions are cheap compared to US versions. On the other hand, these are more fun because Finnish aren’t that good in social events and conversations than Americans. Usually, these shows are more like awkward fun. My husband has said to me many times, that I have awful tv taste, but I don’t care. I love trash TV!
8. THERE’S NO SEXIER THANG THAN CONFIDENCE AND AMBITION!
I think these aren’t the obvious views of life or goals to many. I had to learn how to be more ambitious and confident. We Finnish contrast these as rude an unpolite behavior. Don’t dream too big, so you don’t have to regret. If you are too ambitious, you are cold and calculating at least you happen to be a woman. They say that attack is the best defense, that’s why these views of life have become part of life guidelines of life, at least for me. What else you can do, when you live in highly competitive society, where you have right to humiliate. You can accuse, underrate or compare people everywhere. If you feel insulted, you are weak, up-tight or otherwise dull. Also, these loudmouths veil these slurs as feedback or their right to “freedom of speech”.
That’s why I admire everyone, who go after their dreams. If You trust yourself and you are ready to work, you will be successful. After all, you live your own life, not theirs. So why would you let other’s opinions stand in way of your dreams?
